BIO
Sarah and her siblings were raised by their maternal grandparents after their parents became casualties of a raid simulation gone wrong. While not superbly well-off, they were able to provide a stable home and family for the Sanders children. In school, Sarah had always been interested in the Time Agency. She'd heard about it when a fellow student did a paper on the organization which was mainly filled with drivel and uncertainties. She'd done a bit of research into it and decided she wanted to take part in it. Much to her surprise, her older brother, Jacob, harbored the same dream albeit for his own reasons.
After finishing school, she was recruited upon her older brother's referral. She trained hard and wherever she fell short in skill, she made up for with verbal charm and willingness to bend to superiors' whims. While Sarah was still a Private, Jacob confided in her his doubts about the way things were being run in the Time Agency. She'd been quick to disagree, but he wasn't having any of it. Soon thereafter, Jacob went rogue and they fell out of contact for nearly five years while she worked to further her rank. He disapproved of her loyalty to the organization and was afraid that it would trump her loyalty to her family; that she would turn him in. Once the Time Agency was down to seven remaining Agents - Sarah being one of those - and disbanded, Jacob began corresponding with her once again. By that time, Sarah was already traveling through time and space, trying to find a new purpose in life.
She met up with her sister, Mia, in London when she traveled back to the year 2004. It's unknown to Sarah just how Mia got there, but she suspects Jacob's Vortex Manipulator had something to do with it. They rented a flat together and Sarah went domestic, getting a job in a clothing shop, where she stayed until the Slitheen attack in 2005. Having checked into it, but deciding, ultimately, to stay out of it and let Torchwood (an organization she'd come to find through rumor and speculatory discussion, dealt with such things) deal with it, Sarah heard through the grapevine about Captain Jack Harkness, whose alias she recognized from the Time Agency's hunt for the rogue agents, although she'd never met him. After a bit of nosing around on her own, she found out, once again, mainly through the grapevine and mainly based upon rumor and speculation, that Jack was running Torchwood Three, located in Cardiff, and that the Rift's activity was beginning to spike a few years later. Immediately, Sarah wanted to join Torchwood; she was certain that by being a part of Torchwood, she'd not only find a kindred spirit in a fellow Time Agent, but she'd finally have a purpose again. When she voiced the desire to move to the year 2007, Mia vehemently disagreed; a drawn-out and angry domestic dispute between the two sisters ensued and Sarah left anyway. To date, she has not heard from Mia, nor does she intend to contact her little sister.
While looking for Torchwood's secret location, Sarah still travels to break the monotony of the search, but for the most part, resides in Cardiff, Wales, working as an exotic dancer when she feels the desire to quickly make large sums of money rather than gamble for it. She attempts to blend in as a 21st century human by renting a rundown flat and spending much of her free time in pubs conversing with the locals. She still holds hope that she'll someday meet Jack Harkness and prove to him her abilities, showing him that she would be an asset to his Torchwood Team. Until then, she just aims to have a good time and soak up the local culture.
Place of birth: Records are inconclusive - one states London, England, the other says Seoul, South Korea. One of these records was faked, but to this day, Sarah is unsure which is the true one. She stopped caring once the Time Agency took her on.
Currently living in: Wherever she feels like, whenever she feels like, but mainly in Cardiff, Wales, while searching for her niche.
Family: Grandparents, Evelyn and Thomas Radcliffe, 70 and 82 respectively, alive and still in the 51st century, formerly close although Sarah has not bothered to keep in contact with them as of late. Parents, deceased, unknown to her as they were killed in a raid when she was four years old; she doesn't even remember them. Older brother, Jacob, 36, used to be close, whereabouts currently unknown (he was also a Time Agent, but went rogue two years into Sarah's own time at the Time Agency), still somewhat close, as he writes from time to time to check up on her, although never revealing his location. Eventually, Sarah gave up trying to follow postage and digital tracking of email, just content to know he's happy and alive. Younger sister, Mia, 21, Los Angeles, California in the year 2006, estranged.
Occupation: former Time Agent; exotic dancer, bartender, bootlegger, extortionist, security guard, sales representative, maid, model, space station fuel attendant, Satellite 5 entry-level employee - depends on what she feels like and where she's located. She never stays in one place for very long and flip-flops between mediocre and more advanced jobs depending on her abundance or lack of money at any given time. If she hasn't got the skills for the position, she'll fudge her references.

PERSONALITY
Sarah has two personalities - one that she maintains in a work environment and that of her true self. She's an outgoing woman, independent, but antsy and unable to settle in one place without purpose for very long. She's loud, obnoxious, arrogant, and sarcastic to the bone. Most of the time, she'd much rather be around other people than alone, but when she's angry she harbors violent tendencies and for the most part, tries to keep to herself so as not to cause a scene or create unnecessary havoc. She has a sense of humor that most people miss completely, it's so dry. She's a bit of a bleeding heart, as mentioned earlier, when it comes to 19th to 22nd-century humans, especially knowing the fears some of them not-so-secretly harbor about the end of the world being almost near enough to be in their time. She has little patience for closed-mindedness, especially when it comes to race, religion, sexual orientation, and political views; as far as Sarah's concerned none of those things define a person, they just are and there's no point in being hostile toward someone over something as trivial as any of those things. Ironically, she also can't stand arrogance that she feels is undeserved, given a person's social standing.
At work, be it the Time Agency or anywhere else she lands herself to make a buck, Sarah turns on the charm, calms her aggressive nature in favor of passive or passive-aggressiveness, and is eager to please. She earned her nicknames because of this - fellow Time Agents noted the vast differences in her personalities at work versus at play. The S.O.S., besides being convenient given her initials, came from the many times when she'd call for help or concede having an upper hand in a situation in favor of stroking a superior's ego. The ease with which she tended to get out of assignments she didn't like simply by talking up superiors or doing them favors quickly earned Sarah her other nickname, Lt. Brown-Noser. Her all work and no play attitude in the line of duty was fodder for conversation among her colleagues and earned her a third nickname, Torrance, after the main character of Stephen King's novel The Shining.
Likes: Hand-to-hand combat, downpours of rain, drinking, dancing, sex, sleeping, money
Dislikes: Mornings, weaponry battle, people who don't stand up for themselves, ignorance, closed-mindedness, domestic animals (dogs, cats, other pets)
Strengths: Running, following directions, organization, hand-to-hand combat
Weaknesses: Any sort of skill having to do with blades of any kind, doesn't take criticism very well, has a bit of a bleeding heart.
Hopes: To find her niche once again, to be useful, to find Jack Harkness and Torchwood - all of these things are connected in her mind.
Random facts: Sarah has never bothered to learn to use a computer, so her knowledge with them is very basic, at best. She sometimes uses her dancer name, Allison, as an alias. She wears her Vortex Manipulator around her ankle to keep it from being too conspicuous (usually pretending it's an alcohol-monitoring anklet put on her by the police when asked) unless she's recently used it, in which case it'll be on her wrist where it belongs.

SKILLS
Sarah has all the basic training from the Time Agency (weaponry, hand-to-hand combat, war tactics) are under her belt, but she doesn't necessarily excel at all of them, though under pressure and the influence of adrenaline, she sometimes surprises herself.
She's manipulative when she thinks it'll help her get something she needs or wants, for work or for pleasure, and she tends to be fairly good at that, as well.
